That Old Devil Moon

For what is, I think, the second time -- or in any case, second moonrise -- I saw the moon when I went out skiing.

For what is, I think, the second time — or in any case, second moonrise — I saw the moon when I went out skiing.

I don’t know if it’s easier to see when the sun starts getting lower, or if I’ve just been not paying enough attention. Yesterday was a lovely day to go skiing — about -35 and maybe 5 knot winds. It’s about -39 now, and light winds. As I’ve noted before, at this temperature it’s the winds that matter most. I might go out tonight — depending on the winds — and I might return my equipment.

Soon the moon will become part of my usual life again, not a rare occurrence. It’s up to me to decide if it’s a special event every time. Likewise: Sunrise and sunset, stars, rain, cats and dogs, grass, trees, and even snow.
